Yay!
Some lab members created a booth where the public could make beautiful microbe-inspired art. And Buster Bronco visited! See the post-event video below: microbe art takes center stage as the second clip right after the exploding trash can.
In January, 2025 Dawn presented her research poster at the Murdock Partners in Science Conference in Portland, OR. We had a fun time with the Boise State team.

Elle, Denisse, and Leonora planted hundreds of sagebrush seedlings as part of Elle’s project and a collaboration with the City of Boise restoration team. People from two other courses also came to help in the afternoon. It turned out to be a beautiful day.
Fiona Harrigian joined the Bittleston Lab and the Boise State EEB PhD program in August, 2024. We’re so happy to have you!
Many lab members attended the ESA conference in Long Beach in August 2024, and we had a blast! Jess, Jessica, Jacob and Leonora (and Fiona!) all gave talks and Denisse presented a poster. The MTM team also organized an oral session on “Understanding functional community assembly over time” with fantastic invited speakers. It was very well-attended and all talks were excellent! Our lab group stayed at a lovely AirBnB by the beach, and biked into the conference together using the city bike program. A few of us took the ferry to Catalina Island on the last day.
